Cooke receives endorsements from dozens of Middle Georgia Victims Advocates
David Cooke, candidate for Macon Circuit District Attorney, received the endorsements today of many victims advocates from throughout Middle Georgia. Speaking at a campaign event this morning, anti-sex trafficking activist Christine Watson, a conservative Republican from Peach County, voiced her support for Cooke.
“The day I met David, he talked about his faith in God and its importance in his life and the life of his family,” she said. “Because of David’s success in getting justice for victims, and his continued involvement in fighting crimes against women and children, it’s no wonder that he is known and respected by so many people in central Georgia who also advocate for child victims of crime.”
Additional victims advocates endorsing David Cooke today included Terri Di Diego, Katina Clay, Kelly Green, Meredith Howell, and Denise Atkinson.
David previously served as Chief of the Special Victims Unit (SVU) for four years, and was a Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney in Atlanta, Georgia, where he successfully handled the starvation and torture-murder case of five-year-old Terrell Peterson. In addition to working in the Homicide and Special Victims Units in Atlanta, Cooke served as an Assistant Solicitor-General in Athens, GA, and as an Assistant District Attorney in Carrollton, GA.
Cooke is a frequent lecturer on crimes against women and children, and has been featured multiple times as an expert commentator on HLN’s Nancy Grace Show.
