Safer Neighborhoods

As a husband and father of three young children, I know that protecting our families is our top priority. And as our next District Attorney, I also know that until every Peach, Crawford and Bibb County family feels safe in their home we still have work to do.

Middle Georgia children should be able to play in their own neighborhoods safely. Parents should feel good about watching their kids play outside. And businesses should be able to open their doors in any community.

As our next District Attorney, I’ll fight every day to make Middle Georgia a safe place for our families and businesses.

Living Up to Middle Georgia’s Full Potential

My wife, Macon native Rebecca Rowell Cooke, has said that “David wasn’t born here, but he got here as soon as he could.” Rebecca and I first met at Macon’s First Baptist Church of Christ – and she’s right – I had already fallen in love with Middle Georgia, and I was soon to fall in love with my future wife right here.

Rebecca and I chose to stay right here in Bibb County, and to raise our family here. I can’t think of a better place to raise our three children. I want the best for them – just like I know you want the best for your family.

As our next District Attorney, I know that we have some improving to do to make Bibb, Crawford and Peach Counties an even better place to live, work and raise our families. By working with community groups we can and must do a better job of preventing crimes before they happen. By working with the business community, we can and must do a better job of creating a business-friendly and safe environment for small business owners.

There is no reason Middle Georgia can’t live up to it’s full potential if we all work together, and as our next District Attorney I’ll work every single day to make that happen.

Fighting Sex Trafficking in Middle Georgia

As a career prosecutor, I’ve spent my life putting the bad guys who hurt women and children behind bars. I’m honored to have honed my prosecutorial skills in some tough DA offices – from Atlanta to Athens to Houston County. I’m humbled to have won some awards along the way from people I sincerely admire, and to have been allowed to play a small part in securing justice for families like those of five-year-old Terrell Peterson, who was tortured and starved to death.

But right now in our community there is a large problem going ignored. Macon is home to a thriving underground sex-trafficking industry. And while I’m honored to be a part of several community groups fighting against this serious threat to our families and our business community, as our next District Attorney I will make it a top priority to put an end to sex trafficking in our community.

If you and I have not had an opportunity to meet face to face before out in our community, please feel free to call or email me directly. I would love to hear your thoughts on how to make Bibb, Peach and Crawford Counties an even better place to live, work and raise our families.

Over the next few months I hope to earn your support, your prayers and your vote as our next District Attorney.
